Project Summary

The Main Street Central and Gateway works, a pivotal part of the Pakenham Revitalisation Project, are set to transform the heart of Pakenham into a welcoming space for all. The aim is to foster a vibrant, safe, and social environment that invites people to visit, shop, dine, and engage with the community.

The final design features wider footpaths embellished with trees and street furniture, new pedestrian crossings for enhanced safety, more public seating, and opportunities for outdoor dining. Improvements to roundabouts and roadway reconstruction works are also part of the plan. The implementation of parallel parking and a reduced speed limit of 40km per hour will further enhance safety and accessibility.

These enhancements will establish seamless pedestrian connections to the new train station and outdoor recreational spaces, revolutionising the way you navigate Pakenham. This transformation will also promote active transport opportunities, encouraging walking and cycling throughout the town.
