Koo Wee Rup Bowling Club and Community Hub pavilion
The Koo Wee Rup Bowling and Community Hub will replace the existing pavilion located at the south end of the reserve, which was built in the late 1960s.
The pavilion is used regularly by Koo Wee Rup Bowling Club and Southwest Gippsland Midweek Bowls Group. It is also used on occasion by Koo Wee Rup Lions Club and other community and private groups.
The new pavilion will better support the current clubs, as well as other local sporting clubs, schools and community groups that host meetings and functions.
Council revised the construction type from traditional ‘bricks and mortar’ to a modular building. The existing clubroom facility is being demolished and will be reconstructed with new modular facilities for club members and the general community. The new pavilion will feature:
- Two social rooms.
- Three community meeting rooms.
- Kitchen and bar servery.
- Two change room areas and toilet facilities.
- Storage area and first aid room.
- Office area.
This project is jointly funded by Council, Victorian and Australian Government agencies. The construction tender for design and construction closed on 4 August 2023. Tender assessment is completed. Construction is underway and the revised delivery timing for this project is November 2024.
