The area surrounding the Garfield Skatepark will see improvements made as part of Council’s 2022-23 capital works program. This is in line with Council’s Skate and BMX Strategy (2016) (see Document Library).

By providing improvements to the area around the skatepark, we hope to see an increase in the use and enjoyment of this facility. The improvements will support our community by improving social, physical, and emotional well-being, benefiting the local users and visitors to the skatepark, as well as sporting groups who use the recreation reserve and facilities.

In April 2023 we presented a concept plan for the Garfield Skate Park upgrade project and asked for your feedback. We listened to your thoughts and ideas and have now developed a final design. After consultation with community, we have modified the final design to include a larger shelter area, added seating and some shaping to the eastern surface. Please see final design below. Construction will commence 18th March 2024 and will be completed approximately 2 weeks later.
