About the Policy

Council acknowledges that there are challenges for everyone to participate in sport and active recreation based on their gender, age, culture, language, abilities, etc. The Active Cardinia Strategy defines ‘active recreation’ as non-competitive physical activity undertaken during leisure time, individually or in groups. Examples of active recreation include, but not limited to walking, cycling, running, fitness/exercise activities, swimming and yoga.

Council is seeking your advice on how we can make Cardinia a fairer place and identify ways we can remove barriers to increase participation in active recreation across the shire, in particular females.
