CMSport Strong Clubs, Strong Coaches Forum

13 August 2024

In partnership with VicHealth, CMSport invite you to join them at the CMSport Strong Clubs, Strong Coaches Forum - exploring the role of coaching and leadership to foster inclusive, safe, and successful sporting environments for multicultural people.

CMSport are thrilled to introduce you to our fiirst round of speakers! The MC for the day is Mariam Koslay, recipient of the Western Bulldogs Women of the West Award (2024) and currently works at the Australian Multicultural Media Centre as a presenter and mentor, training young people in journalism. She advocates for economic and information equity through the development of strength-based, positive storytelling and creative action. She actively supports schools and parents in collaboration, repair, cultural competency and the celebration of the African Diaspora in Australia, and we are honoured to have her on board.

Introducing the Keynote Speaker, Akec Makur Chuot - a former Australian Rules footballer who played for Hawthorn, Richmond and Fremantle. Through determination, a life-long can-do attitude and the support of her family, Akec overcame incredible hurdles to become the first African woman drafted into the AFLW. Born in South Sudan, she spent 11 years of her childhood in a Kenyan refugee camp, before arriving and settling in Perth. CMSport are honoured to invite her as Keynote Speaker and look forward to sharing more of the program with you very soon.
