A reminder Expressions of Interest for the Community Capital Works (Category 2) Partnership Grants Program are open and will close on Thursday 12 December 2024!

The Community Capital Works Grant Program assists community groups in improving community and recreational facilities, supporting community networks, and enhancing community well-being.

Applications for Community Capital Works (Category 2) Partnership Grants are completed via a two-stage process. If an expression of interest is supported, applicants will be invited to complete a detailed application between 20 January and 20 March 2025.

The expression of interest process will involve you reaching out to the Sport & Active Recreation Team to receive council support for your project by emailing recreation@cardinia.vic.gov.au. You will need to provide the following information:

• Project overview/scope

• Project location

• Estimated costs

• Why the project is needed

• How will the Club/Community will benefit from the project

• Evidence if a building permit/planning permit is or isn't required

When clubs are applying, the reserve committee will need to provide support in writing for the proposed project. The Community Capital Works grants program is comprised of three Categories:

Category 2: (EOI now open)

• Grants of up to $35,000

• Community groups manage the work with guidance from the Council.

• Community groups must provide a matched funding amount based on annual income.

Category 1: (applications open 20 January 2025 – 20 March 2025)

• Grants of up to $20,000

• Projects must outline priority areas – (Priority area 1: Upgrades to Accessibility, Priority area 2: Building Sustainability, Priority area 3: Crime Prevention through Environmental Design Priority area, 4: Removal of Hazardous Materials)

• Council will manage project works

• Community groups are not required to provide matched funding.

Category 3: (applications open 20 January 2025 – 20 March 2025)

• Grants of up to $20,000 are available for the purchase of major equipment

• Equipment purpose to help maintain sporting grounds, outer grounds, or large internal areas.

• Community groups must provide dollar-for-dollar matched funding.
