- Thank you to all the young people who contributed fun and creative names for the new youth centre. We had over 40 young people take part in the process.
- Cardinia youth services engaged local schools, social programs, community groups and the community to put forward a name and go into the draw to win 1 of 10 $30 vouchers. The name Cardinia Youth Hub was put forward by two young people and received the highest votes.
- Cardinia Youth Hub represents a safe place for young people and will be located on James Street in Pakenham. It is anticipated to open by the end of 2022. Thanks to the two young people Hector and Lochie who put forward the name and everyone who participated.
Help name your new youth centre
- A bigger and better youth centre is coming to Pakenham! The new centre will be located in James Street.
- When it comes to naming the new facility, there are 2 directions to go in - we can either keep the name ‘My Place’, which is already familiar to our community as the name of our current youth centre, or go with a fresh new name for a fresh new building!
Feedback closes: Sunday 18 April 2021
10 lucky randomly selected young people who put forward a suggested name for the new centre will receive a
$30 Teen Gift Card
for taking part.
When you’re thinking of a name for the youth centre, maybe it could reflect how it will be used, who will use it or where it is!
- Please don’t suggest names that may be considered discriminatory or offensive to others.
- The name suggestions you make will be shared with Council and then a final decision will be made.
