Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2025-2027
Cardinia Shire Council is excited to announce the development of its draft Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) for 2025 - 2027. This plan will outline how we will contribute to reconciliation, strengthen relationships, demonstrate respect, and provide opportunities for collaboration with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Cardinia Shire.
We are developing our Innovate RAP in consultation with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members, Traditional Owners, the wider community and our internal Reconciliation Working Group.
Our RAP will focus on building three pillars of reconciliation:
- Respect
- Relationships
- Opportunities.
The Innovate RAP framework is guided by Reconciliation Australia.
We invite all community members to share their ideas on how the Council can:
- Build and strengthen relationships.
- Show respect to Traditional Owners, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders living and or working in Cardinia Shire and their culture.
- Improve opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Cardinia Shire through areas of Employment, Education, Health, Cultural preservation, and community engagement.
While many actions are determined by Reconciliation Australia, we value your input on advancing reconciliation and promoting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and protocols in Cardinia Shire.
Follow this page to receive information and updates on how you can:
- Submit your ideas online or by email
- Share your suggestions on how we can enhance our efforts in reconciliation
- Attend community activities to discuss themes that can support actions in the RAP and provide feedback.
We look forward to your participation and input in shaping a more inclusive and respectful community.
