Project overview
The Cardinia Shire Open Space Strategy has identified Puffing Billy Place Reserve as a Township Park and includes a recommendation to “Prepare a masterplan for the Puffing Billy Place Reserve to support the reclassification of the park to a “Township Park”.
Township parks are located within town centres, they provide a high level of function regardless of their land size. Township parks are embellished and maintained at a higher level to support longer periods of stay and to enhance the appeal of our commercial centres.
The implementation of the masterplan will be subject to funding and used to advocate for funding from other levels of government.
During stage 1 consultation in late 2023, you told us how you have been using the park, how you would like to use the park in the future, and what you would like to see included in the masterplan. As part of this process, Council also received submissions from the Emerald Village Association outlining several recommendations which will help inform the final masterplan design.
Please take 10 minutes to answer the survey below and comment on the proposed design of the reserve. We appreciate your feedback and input. Children can also complete the survey with an adult’s help.
Note: Images in the survey and Masterplan are illustrative only and subject to further detailed design once funding is secured.
