Key points
- Thank you for your input to help us draft a new Open Space Strategy for Cardinia Shire.
- Feedback closed on Sunday 8 December 2019, 5pm.
What are open spaces?
In Cardinia Shire, open spaces include:
- sport and active recreation reserves
- nature reserves
- parks and playground spaces
- urban plaza spaces.
What the new strategy will do
It will shape the strategic direction for Cardinia Shire’s open
spaces over the next 10 years. It will look at existing open spaces
across the shire and identify future needs.
We heard from you
We collected your thoughts and ideas about open spaces, to help us
develop a comprehensive plan that reflects the community’s priorities,
desires and aspirations. We hope this leads to more people in the
community enjoying and getting benefit from the shire’s open spaces.
How we'll use the information we collected
All information collected through the online survey, photo competition and drop-in sessions will assist in the development of the Draft Open Space Strategy. There will be an opportunity to provide feedback on this draft once complete.
Photo Competition
Snap a pic of your favourite open space
Thanks to all those that submitted a picture of your favourite open space in Cardinia Shire and told us why you love it!
Prizes will be awarded to;
People's Choice (the image with the highest number of likes)
Mayor's Choice (as chosen by Mayor Cr. Jeff Springfield)
The winners will be announced on Friday 13th December.
All the information you provide us about what makes a great open space will help us improve Cardinia's sporting reserves, nature reserves, parks and playgrounds, wetlands, trails and urban public spaces.
Drop-in sessions
Come to a drop-in session
We are held a number of drop-in sessions around the shire for you to contribute your thoughts and ideas for the strategy.
