Background: Our Proposal

We are proposing to formalise the temporary closure at the western end of Mulcahy Road, Pakenham. The current temporary closure to motor vehicle traffic is at the Thewlis Road end of Mulcahy Road. It has been in place for the last 12 months during construction of a nearby housing estate.

We are proposing to now formally close Mulcahy Road to motor vehicle traffic between Thewlis Road and Morris Street, then landscape the area. We are also proposing to install timber bollards to prevent motor vehicles gaining access. We are following the required statutory process and a Public Notice about the proposed closure has been advertised in the Pakenham Gazette (19 October 2022).

You are welcome to drop into our information session to find out more about the proposal. The information session is from 5.30pm to 6.30pm on Wednesday 2 November 2022 at our office at 20 Siding Avenue, Officer.

Submissions about the proposed road closure will be considered in accordance with Section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989.

Submissions must be lodged in writing by 16 November 2022.
