Thank you to everyone who shared feedback during Stage 1 in 2025.

There was strong community support for natural‑inspired play elements, alongside a clear preference for physical play equipment and a desire to incorporate imaginative and inclusive play opportunities where possible. The majority of respondents also support the addition of the internal path to improve access through the park, as well as the proposed shelter to enhance comfort and encourage social connection while making best use of the available space.

We are now at the exciting stage where you can share your thoughts on the draft concept plan below and select your favourite option for play equipment!

Lauriston Estate Park - Draft Concept Design

Stage 1 - 2025

Project overview

As part of Council’s annual playground renewal program, Lauriston Estate Park on Townley Road in Koo Wee Rup has been identified for renewal! We want to know how you use the reserve and what you would like to see in the upgrade.

Lauriston Estate Park is a neighbourhood reserve, designed for the local community to enjoy within a short walk from their home. The Cardinia Shire Open Space Strategy 2023-2027 helps guide what features and facilities can be included in parks like this, ensuring they meet the need of community while maintaining a balance across different types of open spaces in the area.

Given its classification, the upgrade will focus on informal recreation, relaxation, and play opportunities for short to medium durations, and will not include public toilets or BBQs.

We invite you to share your thoughts by completing the survey below. Your feedback will help shape the concept design. Council will present the proposed concept design back to the community to ensure it meets community expectations, before preparing the final design and commencing construction.
