Project overview

Council is seeking community feedback on the Draft Festival and Events Policy 2026–2030, which will guide how festivals and events are supported across Cardinia Shire over the next five years.

The policy focuses on the responsible allocation of public funding to support vibrant and inclusive events that activate townships and public spaces. It highlights the important role events play in celebrating local identity, strengthening social connection, supporting cultural expression, and contributing to the local economy.

Through this consultation, Council is seeking feedback from residents, event organisers and community groups to help shape a policy that reflects community needs and aspirations. Community input will ensure future festivals and events continue to add value to the shire while supporting a thriving, connected and welcoming community.
