Garfield Netball Pavilion Upgrade

The existing Garfield Netball Pavilion is proposed to be replaced and upgraded by Cardinia Shire Council to improve functionality, accessibility and long term viability. Cardinia Shire Council is committed to continuing to improve local facilities to keep residents active and moving. The need for future netball pavilion upgrades was identified in the Garfield Recreation Reserve Master Plan (2015).

The works will cost approximately $2.3 million and it is anticipated the upgraded new pavilion will include the following:

  • Changerooms with operable wall/roller door
  • Unisex amenities
  • Strapping/Massage rooms
  • Unisex accessible change room with amenities
  • Umpires change with amenities and operable wall
  • First aid room
  • Public toilets female external access
  • Public toilets male external access
  • Unisex accessible toilet external access
  • External viewing area
  • Meeting/Office room
  • Canteen/Kitchen
  • Cleaners store
  • Utility service area
  • Internal storage
  • External storage

Council has been working closely with the Garfield Netball Club, Garfield Recreation Reserve Community Asset Committee, Garfield Football Club and Netball Victoria on this pavilion upgrade project.

The existing netball pavilion is located at the Garfield Recreation Reserve alongside netball courts, ovals, tennis courts, bowls, skate park, outdoor pool, community garden, community centre/hall, off leash dog park, outdoor exercise station and a playground.

The works are proposed to commence late 2022 subject to allocation of funding.
