Garfield Netball Pavilion now open for play!
The existing Garfield Netball Pavilion was replaced and upgraded by Cardinia Shire Council (who invested $2.3m) in partnership with the Victorian Government (investing $800k) to improve functionality, accessibility and long term viability. The construction is now complete, and the pavillion is open for play!
The works cost a total $3.1 million and the new pavilion includes the following upgrades:
- Changerooms with operable wall/roller door
- Unisex amenities
- Strapping/Massage rooms
- Unisex accessible change room with amenities
- Umpires change with amenities and operable wall
- First aid room
- Public toilets female external access
- Public toilets male external access
- Unisex accessible toilet external access
- External viewing area
- Meeting/Office room
- Canteen/Kitchen
- Cleaners store
- Utility service area
- Internal storage
- External storage
Cardinia Shire Council is committed to continuing to improve local facilities to keep residents active and moving. The need for future netball pavilion upgrades was identified in the Garfield Recreation Reserve Master Plan (2015). Council had worked closely with the Garfield Netball Club, Garfield Recreation Reserve Community Asset Committee, Garfield Football Club and Netball Victoria on this pavilion upgrade project.
