About Ebony Drive Linear Reserve

Ebony Drive Linear Reserve is a Neighbourhood Park, designed to support the everyday needs of the local community. These parks provide accessible spaces for informal recreation, relaxation, and connection, typically within walking distance of residents. In line with this, the proposed upgrades focus on informal play and short to medium stays. Features such as public toilets, shade sails, and BBQs are not included, in line with the Cardinia Shire Open Space Strategy 2023–2033, which guides how parks are designed across the municipality.

Please note that any play equipment or photos shown are illustrative only and represent the type of play value proposed, not final selections. Final equipment will be selected later based on safety, value for money and procurement requirements.

Project background (September 2025)

Ebony Drive Linear Reserve is classified as a Neighbourhood Park, which means it serves the local community by providing accessible, everyday outdoor recreation opportunities. These parks are designed to support informal play, social connection, and relaxation for nearby residents, often within walking distance.

The Cardinia Shire Open Space Strategy 2023-2033 helps guide what features and facilities can be included in parks like this, ensuring they meet the need of community while maintaining a balance across different types of open spaces in the area. Given its classification, the upgrade will focus on informal recreation, relaxation, and play opportunities for short to medium durations, and will not include public toilets or BBQs.

Before we begin the design process, we’re gathering insights from the community to better understand how the reserve is currently used, which play elements are most suitable for families, and any additional thoughts about the reserve or the existing playground. This feedback will play a key role in shaping the design and ensuring the renewed playground reflects the needs and preferences of the community.

Please take a few moments to complete the survey below and share your thoughts with us.
