The need

Officer residents deserve a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities to choose from. Currently, locals must travel to Pakenham or beyond to access skate parks and other large outdoor spaces.

The next stage of Officer District Park will not only provide Officer with a premier outdoor space in the heart of the suburb, but it will also create a large, modern recreation zone that will attract visitors from across Cardinia Shire.

The plan

Officer is a growing community with relatively few open spaces and unstructured recreation opportunities. Officer District Park has been designed as one of our area’s major park destinations, drawing in residents from across the Shire.

Stage 2 of the project is focused on delivering a large and innovative skate park as well as mountain biking trails and a café for visitors.

Population growth is outstripping public services and amenities in many areas of Cardinia Shire. All residents deserve a variety of outdoor spaces and recreation options in their neighbourhood to enjoy. A fully completed Officer District Park will ensure that all current and future Officer residents are guaranteed access to a premier park facility.

Stage 1 of Officer District Park opened to the public in late 2024 and has already been an immensely popular destination for Officer locals of all ages. Completing Stage 2 will increase the park’s capacity in line with population growth expectations, as well as providing greater variety to ensure there is something to offer all members of the community.
