You can make a difference
Advocating for better services, improved infrastructure, and a more liveable community is not just a job for Council. Community members can play a key role in calling for change in the areas that are most important to you and your family.
Cardinia Shire Council wants our community to feel empowered to speak out on issues that affect you. On this page you will find information and guidance to help you in your own advocacy, whether it is related to Council, the Victorian Government, or the Australian Government.
Use our Community Advocacy Toolkit
Council works hard to advocate for the infrastructure and services that we expect in our shire. However, some issues are outside of our responsibilities or control - advocacy on these matters is most effective when it is led by the community and targeted at stakeholders like your local MP, ministers, and community organisations.
Council has prepared a Community Toolkit that contains everything you need to conduct a successful advocacy campaign. This includes identifying stakeholders, communicating your message, and starting petitions on social media.
Follow the link below to access the Toolkit and get started on your own advocacy journey:

We want to hear from you
Council is always seeking thoughts, feedback, and suggestions from members of the public to help make sure that we are making decisions that have the biggest positive impact on our shire.
Creating Cardinia is where you can find all the consultations, draft plans, and community panels that Council is conducting. Sharing your thoughts on projects and plans that impact you is the best way to help ensure that your vision for Cardinia Shire becomes reality.
