Victoria Introduces New Workplace Mental Health Regulations

1 December 2025

From 1 December 2025, all Victorian employers must comply with new Occupational Health and Safety (Psychological Health) Regulations.

These rules require businesses to identify and manage psychosocial hazards—such as bullying, harassment, aggression, and exposure to trauma—just as they do physical risks. A compliance code and resources, including prevention plan templates, are available to help employers meet their obligations. The changes aim to reduce psychological injuries, which often result in longer absences than physical injuries, and align Victoria with other states’ standards.
