Tiny Towns Fund

The new Tiny Towns Fund will support local communities to deliver quality tourism and community facility projects, such as splash parks and bike trails, playgrounds, community hall and library upgrades, public art and more.

Towns with a population of up to 5,000 people in the 48 local government areas of regional Victoria are eligible to apply, as well as Alpine Resorts and Melbourne’s 10 interface outer metropolitan local government areas.

Those areas include Casey City Council, Cardinia Shire Council, Hume City Council, Melton City Council, Mitchell Shire Council, Mornington Peninsula Shire Council, Nillumbik Shire Council, Whittlesea City Council, Wyndham City Council and the Yarra Ranges Shire Council.

Funding details

  • Grants between $5,000 and $50,000 will be available for each project.
  • Applicants will be required to make a co-contribution towards the proposed project budget in line with the requirements outlined in the Program Guidelines.
  • Applicants will be asked in their application to describe a proposed project that shows a direct benefit to the town and its community through alignment with the Tiny Town Fund objectives.

Application process

  • The fund is open to applications from incorporated not-for-profit community organisations and Local Government that operate in Victoria. Refer to Regional Development Victoria Tiny Towns Fund for the Program Guidelines and detailed information including eligible applications and the application process.

Applications close 25 February 2024.
