The Victorian Government has re-established the Small Business Ministerial Council to ensure Victoria’s small businesses are actively consulted and supported.

The council, chaired by Dr Suji Sanjeevan, includes a diverse group of business leaders who will advise on policies and programs affecting the sector. This initiative complements the Multicultural Business Ministerial Council, reinforcing inclusive representation. With over 718,000 small businesses contributing significantly to the state’s economy, the government has committed $4.9 million in the 2025/26 Budget to support their growth through initiatives like the Small Business Bus and Toolkits program.
