Cash Back Into The Pockets Of Drought-Affected Farmers

1 October 2025

The Victorian Government has launched a Duties and Fees Relief Package to support drought-affected Victorian farmers, injecting over $10 million in financial relief.

The initiative waives livestock duties, NLIS tag processing fees, and beekeeping registration costs, while freezing or capping other agricultural fees. Dairy farmers will receive automatic licence fee discounts via milk payments, and horticulture producers in severely impacted LGAs will benefit from waived food safety registration fees. This support is part of a broader $144 million Drought Support Package aimed at sustaining Victoria’s agricultural sector through challenging conditions.
