Backing Farmers With More Drought Support

26 May 2025

The Victorian Government has unveiled a new $15.9 million drought support package to assist farmers across Victoria, including those in Cardinia. This initiative builds on the previous $13.5 million package and is designed to provide comprehensive support through technical decision-making assistance, mental health and wellbeing grants, and on-farm infrastructure upgrades. These measures are intended to help farmers manage the impacts of drought and enhance their resilience for future challenges.

Farmers in Cardinia can benefit from this funding, which includes resources to improve their farming practices and infrastructure. The package emphasises the importance of mental health support, recognising the significant stress that drought conditions can impose on farmers. By offering both practical and emotional assistance, the Victorian Government aims to ensure that farmers are well-equipped to handle current drought conditions and are better prepared for any future occurrences.
